Gaffney Receipt 6

Dublin Core

Title

Gaffney Receipt 6

Subject

A receipt from the Gaffney family records.

Description

This item is a hotel bill charging Mrs. Gaffney $3.00 for services incurred at the Chester House in Mobile, AL. The bill was written by a representative of the hotel, specifically someone identified possibly as T. L. Chester (an owner of the hotel, perhaps?). The bill only mentions one servant, though it is possible that there are more and the servants are merely represented as singular on the bill. This receipt might come from a section of the trip where Mrs. Gaffney parted from Mr. Haley for a brief time, yet another receipt clearly states that Mr. Haley was in the area because Mrs. Gaffney is billed for some services Mr. Haley paid for in Mobile, AL.
